1. **What services does your studio offer?**
- At Nova Records, we offer a full range of production, writing, coaching, recording, mixing, and mastering services tailored to artists across various genres. Our goal is to bring your musical vision to life.
2. **How experienced are your engineers and producers?**
- Our team comprises highly experienced engineers and producers with a track record of delivering exceptional results. They have worked with both emerging talents and established artists. Main engineer has 8+ years experience and 20+ million streams collectively through past projects.
3. **Can I schedule a studio tour?**
- We do our best to facilitate a transparent online presence through our website and social media and it’s a pretty simple layout and all pictures and our gear list tell you whats there so tours are not generally something we do because of our busy schedule. We are more than happy to either give a quick walkthrough over facetime or a phone call as it’s just more productive and convenient for both clients and staff.
4. **What are your studio's rates and packages?**
- Our standard rate is $60 per hour, with custom package options available for larger projects. We also offer competitive rates for mixing and mastering services ensuring we put quality at the forefront of your project(s).
5. **Do you offer discounts for longer recording sessions?**
- No, we think our rate is extremely resonable given the experience level of our staff, quality of our gear, convenience of our location in the heart of downtown Toronto and the productive value we provide during your time in the studio.
6. **What equipment and software do you use?**
- We use nothing but industry-leading instruments, microphones, preamps and software to ensure pristine quality recordings. Some highlights of our gear includes our brand new Neumann U87 running through a Neve 1073 emulation preamp into a Universal Audio Apollo interface and we use Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton, FL Studio for our production, mixing and mastering.
7. **Can I bring my own instruments and gear?**
- Absolutely, you're welcome to bring your instruments and gear. We'll work together to integrate them seamlessly into your recording and we also provide exceptional quality and properly maintained guitars and a myriad of software instruments and over 50gb of drum samples curated over the years.
8. **Are there additional costs for mixing and mastering?**
- Mixing and mastering are separate from our hourly rate. We believe in seperating the recording and demo process from the mixing process as it allows the artist to fully kick back and enjoy their process and let us take care of the mixing and mastering process remotely after the in-person stuff has been taken care of as mixing tends to happen in chunks over a few days to give fresh listening ears. We highly encourage revisions and will not finish the project until you are happy with it. We are 100% transparent from the start of all of our client relationships so there are no hidden costs. We're committed to delivering a polished final product.
9. **What's your cancellation policy?**
- We understand that plans can change. Please let us know 24 hours before your schedules session start time to reschedule. Your deposit is void if you give less than 24 hours notice as we put a lot of care and preparation into making your session productive and memorable. We hope you understand as we try our best to accommodate and respect the time of all other clients we are balancing our schedule with.
10. **How long does a typical recording session last?**
- 3 hours is our minimum for recording sessions. We're here to ensure you have ample time to create your best work and can record up to 8 hours for a negotiable day rate. Please let us know your needs upon contacting us.
11. **Can you accommodate large bands or ensembles?**
- Our studio is well-equipped to accommodate 2 musicians recording simultaneously, however not for more members. For bigger ensemble or band projects we outsource the finest studios for drum tracking or any live room to work comfortably.
12. **What's your policy on revisions and edits?**
- We believe in getting the song done to your satisfaction and we are confident you will like our mixes and masters. An unlimited number of revisions to ensure your satisfaction are included with all mixing and/or mastering fees. Your vision is our top priority.
13. **Is there parking available near your studio?**
- Yes, there is convenient parking nearby to make your visit hassle-free.
14. **Do you offer remote recording options?**
- Yes, we offer remote recording services for clients who prefer to work from the comfort of their own space. This depends on set ups, gear so it is available for discussion if this best suits your needs.
15. **Can you assist with songwriting or arrangement?**
- We have experienced professionals who can assist with songwriting and arrangement if needed, helping you refine your creative vision.
16. **How far in advance should I book a session?**
- It's best to book in advance to secure your preferred dates, especially during peak recording times. Contact us to discuss availability.
17. **What genres of music do you specialize in?**
- While we have experience across various genres, we specialize in delivering exceptional results across the board, tailored to your unique style. A few of our favourite genres to work and include rap, hip-hop, R&B, pop, and anything vocal with sampled production, however our studio is amazing for recording guitars, basses and electronic drum kits with the highest quality sample banks and VST emulations.
18. **Are there any nearby accommodations for out-of-town clients?**
- There are several accommodations nearby for out-of-town clients to make their stay convenient while working with us. Just ask!
19. **Can you provide references from previous clients?**
- Certainly, we can provide references from satisfied clients who have experienced our commitment to quality and professionalism.
